Channel V which has announced its plans to launch a Blogumentary on India by video bloggers in this interview in August by Channel [V] India head honcho Amar Deb. In response to this interview they got criticism about their so called “new media friendliness”.

Now Channel V has gone ahead and launched their MyIndiaReport website (which is actually a wordpress blog) which will support the TV Show which aims at bringing the youth’s views on India to the fore. To do this they have shortlisted 6 video bloggers who shall be roaming the entire country to find out what the youth of today thinks about India.

Channel V has also hired two bloggers Saakshi and Melody who have been active bloggers for quite sometime now to blog on India and current issues that affect its existence on the site Myindiareport.in. Here is the TV intro of MyIndiareport that has been on air for sometime.
Im not sure whether the 6 reporters shortlisted would be uploading their videos on the blogsite but this initiative by Channel V does look like an execise with the social networking and blogging youth in the metros and other cities. I guess it also comes from the fact that today’s youth idolize social networks like orkut (courtesy MTV Youth awards) more than they idolize bollywood stars and this could be one of the reasons why Channel V is moving more towards using new media for its audience.
