Is rediff.com being bought over??

Well this is the question that has been raising many eye brows recently. There is news that Rediff.com could very well be taken over by a unidentified company which has led the stock soaring at the NASDAQ exchange. There was some buzz earlier about Google and yahoo looking to acquire Rediff.

Paul Foster, options strategist at Web information site theflyonthewall.com. has said the sudden rise in the stock could be an indication of a partnership or tie-up from rediff’s end.
In our earlier article  one of our readers commented saying that AOL would be the best possible buyer for rediff, as Google and yahoo are established players in India and the quickest way for AOL to connect with the Indian audience would be to buy over Rediff. We too think the same. do let me know your thoughts.

Yes Gautam, AOL is now performing bad in US. Their market share has fell drastically compared to AOL 10 years back. MSN on the other hand, started its operation way back in India, and still not able to capture a good audience compared to Google or Yahoo!. Rediff can give a very good local reach if MSN buys it. If MSN is not interested, AOL has a chance.

    Hi Girish,
had AOL been around earlier, it could have made a position for itself like msn and google did, im sure if u were to ask a online teenager what were AOL’s activities 6 out of 10 wouldnt be aware of them. a buy out would be essential for AOL but the question raises would rediff sell??
thanks for ur thoughts, do keep sharing ur thoughts with us.
