SearchCamp.in – A 2 Day Unconference on Search Engine Marketing

search camp chennai Search Engine Marketing is growing day by day and even the prime body representing internet in India IAMAI believes that search is big and will continue to gain ground in the interactive advertising space over the display advertising.

Search Marketing though a buzz word now is still understood and well and truly exploited by few. Besides a few specialist agencies like Pinstorm, Position2 and Communicate2 there are few others who can really claim search engine marketing as their forte.

So inorder to spread the word and "educate" people The Knowledge Foundation (The same organising team which was behind events like BarCamp, Blogcamp, Proto.in and WikiCamp.in.) Is coming together again for an Unconference on Search Engine Marketing (SEM) known as SearchCamp.in.

Though the event is an unconference manner i.e every participant is also encouraged to participate in organising and having a say in how the event shapes up, there are panel discussions by eminent speakers like Satya Prabhakar, CEO Sulekha.com, Mahesh Murthy, Founder & CEO, Pinstorm, Vikram Vijayaraghavan, Director, Efficient Frontier with many others who will speak on aspects and recent trends in Search Engine Optimisation, Pay Per Click campaigns and the role of Analytics.

The Venue for this event is Chennai, Tidel park, Chennai on 6th October and 7th October 2007. Im hoping besides for the usual pro SEM talks there will be a conscious effort to touch upon issues like click fraud that have been plaguing the search marketing industry since its inception. I just read a point of view of an agency and publisher on what they think about click fraud in an article here and i must say that a serachcamp without a discussion on click fraud would be incomplete.
