This move will practically enable millions of English-learners within China to take various authentic English learning courses provided by the BBC on their Nokia mobile phones, including ‘Take Away English’, Real English and Quizzes.

BBC world terms China as a very special market as it has the largest number of English learners. China is also the world’s largest mobile market with approximately 460 million mobile phone users.

BBC Learning English head Andrew Thompson remarked:

Another media conglomerate, Reuters has just launched Reuters Market Light (RML), a mobile information service for Indian farmers in order to keep them updated with news and weather changes, and up-to-date local as well as customized commodity pricing information which will help them to increase productivity over a wide range of products such as soybean, pulses and oranges.

Reuters Market Light will provide crucial, local and customized agricultural information for Indian farmers through mobile phones, including weather updates, crop prices and other agric-related news.

Reuters Chief Executive Tom Glocer was quoted saying:
