Hotmail goes local
We had earlier covered hotmail offering custom ids to their users, well this service is going to launch this weekend where you can have custom ids based on these categories.

Where i Live, Who i Like, Who am I, What i like & i dont fit.
Users will be able to create multiple e-mail addresses for different purposes, and then link them together so that all messages come into one mailbox
I think the excitement will be short lived as I wouldn’t really use a Gautam@lokhandwalarocks.com for sending official mails. It very cool no doubt about that. Allowing users to connect with their local heroes or places is surely a way to attract the Indian Janta.
Anyone can create an account. Just log on to coolhotmail.com and create an id for urself. We had earlier done an article on the similar service.
Is it a desperate attempt by Microsoft not to loose their users to Google or yahoo. Or are they truly trying to reach out to the local market?

Some of the reasons include –
It’s a very expensive and formidable challenge, and it’s a losing proposition unless you can quickly get to scale,” said Mark Donovan, senior analyst with M:Metrics Inc., a Seattle-based mobile research firm
Major carriers, such as Verizon Wireless and even Sprint, stole its thunder by rolling out similar child-finder services and other family-friendly features.
struggled to get broad retail distribution of its phones.
it was going to take substantial investment to get to scale in order to make this great product available.
I personally expected the service to do very well in all parts of the world as I felt that the idea was perfect – “mobiles for kids, which parents have complete access to and can also know the location to the kids at anytime”

The R-World ING VYASA Bank stragegy is a simple lead capturing exercise through a campaign on R-World. Vyasa gets the lead, contacts the customer and can still meet him wherever he chooses. What exactly have you guys written - seriously?
And what exactly are the Web2.0 features in this blog, please explain?
Hi Donovan,
yes you are right its a simple exercise by Rcom, but none the less it is an innovative method considering companies soon wont be able to tele market their products aggressively so this is a good option for all telemarketers.
Talking about WEB 2.0 - Yes we are a WEB 2.0 blog but if one has been following WATBlog for some time one would realize that we also do write about Mobile as we feel that mobile is and will be closely connected with WEB 2.0 and there will be a good syndication between the both.
Thanks for the comment,
Cheers
