cricinfoadmobCricinfo.com which is th most comprehensive and leading site around cricket in the world has signed up with Admob to monetize its mobile site. Just recently we had mentioned how internet access on mobile may drive the entire internet penetration. So this news about cricinfo tying up with a mobile advertising solution company Admob just reconfirms that mobile access to internet is on the rise.

According to Anil Nair, Head, Wireless Media, Cricinfo. “The length of time over which the game is played means many consumers cannot watch broadcasts of entire matches and want anytime, anywhere access to the latest news and results.”

Im sure this move by cricinfo is also a result of mobile access of their site rising constantly. And its not only cricinfo which is looking at monetizing its mobile web presence AdMob served over 350 million ads in India alone across its network of over 2,000 mobile Web publishers.

It seems like more and more publishers would consider this route of monetization going ahead as the mobile subscriber numbers which are almost 5-6 times the internet userbase will continue to grow rapidly.
