What is Zoomin?

Flickr meets Shutterfly” that’s probably the easiest ways to explain the service (It is also their model). Basically it’s a picture sharing, storing and printing website.

About the website

It’s a good looking website, pretty neat and clean, simple UI, I really like the flash work that’s been done on the homepage. Users can upload pictures, store and share pictures.
The prints are shipped the very next day. Users can edit the pictures online and also tag them like Shutterfly.

People using flickr and Picassa can directly import their pictures to their Zoom.in account. their competitors itasveer and Picsquare are already providing that service.

The website does seems to have some other interesting features like –

Users can import their address book from Yahoo! Mail, GMail, Hotmail, MSN, Outlook, Outlook Express, etc.

ZoomIn also plans to provide Mobile phone upload and order features

I did find a few things that I fee the website lacked -

They don’t have a blog unlike itasveer and Picsquare (Check out the itasveer blog, its very nice)

The ease of finding the prices/rates (I am still trying to find it)

Picsquare and itasveer provide a lot more required info on the homepage itself which is very essential considering that Indians are price conscious.

They (ZoomIn) do have a strong management team, Mr Sunny Balijepalli CEO and co-founder, who had previously founded Half.com, which was sold to eBay for $350 million in 2000.

Conclusion -
It’s a good looking website which is comparable to international standards, Picsquare, iTasveer, have already been in around for sometime now, the only good factor that catches my eye is importing the address book from your accounts, but one would expect a lot more from a new entrant. And they could really consider starting a blog.

ZoomIn will be officially launching on the 12th of Sept. and are currently giving out 15free prints on signup.

  1. They do provide 25 free prints now, but if any one has used snapfish you’d know that, Snapfish’s deliver charges are so high the 4X6 photos that i received, cost me even more than printing itat a local store.

    Any Zoomin user here?
