We Recently informed our readers about Brijj, Naukri’s initiative at a Business Networking site. WATBlog got in touch with Hitesh Oberoi COO and Director of Brijj, He helps through some more light on what Brijj is all about
.
Q) What are your thoughts on likedin, Is it a competitor to brijj, and if so how do you?ll plan to be different?
A)linkedin will be competition to start with. However Brijj may evolve differently with time.
1) The content and the product will be indianised to suit indian audiences
2) there are strong synergies with the 1 crore naukri database and brijj will tap into this
3) at some point in time brijj will introduce offline networking initiatives to complement online networking.
Q) Is it open to all or is it subscription base?
A) Its open to everyone. The primary target however is high quality working professionals, self employed people, business owners, service providers etc. With time the site will roll out more and more features to take care of the professional networking needs of this segment.
Q) Are there any particular companies you wish to tie up with to provide business network solution or is this another consumer internet company?
A) Brijj will basically be a network of high end working professionals. It will help people connect with friends and colleagues, get business leads, look for jobs, get references on service providers, hire employees for their business, get advice from experts etc. If there are partners who can help facilitate all this we don’t mind tying up with them.
Q)What will be the media spent on Brijj for the coming two years?
A) Can’t put a number to our media spend. We intend using the millions of visitors we get across all our sites and our 1 crore naukri database to help seed brijj to start with. Overtime we expect the viral effect to takeover and the network to multiply on its own.
Q) What are your thoughts on players like Techtribe? They have already created their niche in the technology job front which is the most exploited?
A) We respect all competition and would not want to comment on them. Brijj will help recruiters to reach out to passive job seekers with time.. We have our own strategy on the jobs front and believe that our 1 crore database, network of over 30000 clients and a 500 strong sales force put us at a unique advantage vis a vis others.
Q) When do you forecast to break even?
A) Its too early to talk about revenue, break even etc. Our first objective is to build a sizeable community on brijj. Revenue will follow
