mKhoj launches mobile platform for Advertisers & Consumers

Mkhoj a mobile advertising firm has introduced a new platform for consumers that allows them to search for local every-day products having best deals and discounts directly from their mobile phones.

Users have to just type the product (e.g  shoes) along with the locality (bandra Mumbai) and then send the message to mkhoj at 6767777

merchants can post their ads by logging into the merchant section of their website and create their own promotion which will be displayed on the user’s mobile, depending on their relevance.

Currently the service is only available within  Mumbai, they soon plan to launch its services in 20-25 cities by early next year.

mKhoj CEO Naveen Tewari said, "mKhoj ensures minimal wastage of your marketing budget as the brand/retailer is charged only when a consumer sees their advertisement. That’s not possible in any other medium. We launched mKhoj at Inorbit last week and have seen remarkable response – we are observing 30per cent-35pre cent conversion, which is significantly higher than any other medium. This fundamentally reduces the customer acquisition cost for merchants."

There are over 15,000 merchants registered on mKhoj, in Mumbai. Some of the current clients are Inorbit, Subhiksha, Cafe Coffee Day, McDonalds, Dominos, Lakme, Metro Shoes, The Mobile Store, Tata Sky, Provogue and Kaya Skin Clinic

Users can also search online for the products on the website. i had a go with the service. I searched for ‘apparel’ in  Bandra West. There was no results. It may take them some time to for them build the data base but I strongly feel that the keyword you give in the e.g. box should give you atleast one result, considering they are catering only to one city at this time

Conclusion –
It definitely sounds like a good service. Something that people will use. How far will it actually give out correct and required info (not just spam messages) is something we will have to wait and watch.

Thank you Gautam your comments are very well received. In our defence mKhoj deal inventory is purely owned by merchants and they decide the selection of keywords. Many of them have select cloths as the key word and it just happened that none selected apparel at that time thats why you didn't get any result. We are also implementing the concept of synonyms so all these problems should go away after that. I sincerly thank you for your valuable input. In the mean time happy deal searching on mKhoj.
