AT&T and e-music tie up to provide downloadable music for mobile phones
Email It!

International carrier AT&T who also is the exclusive carrier for the IPhone has launched a service in collaboration with e-music, the leading digital retailer of independent music, a service that allows users to download music directly from their mobile device.
Users can surf trough the 2.7million collection of DRM music, listen to them and then download them.
Users will have to pay $7.49 per month that would allow them to download upto 5 songs, for additional songs one would have to again buy the $7.49 pack. AT&T customers can preview tracks and shop the service without signing up for the subscription, but would need to subscribe in order to download music.
The Big Question
Does it work on the iPhone ?
NO
"Despite AT&T also being the service provider for Apple’s iPhone, eMusic’s over-the-air service will not work on that device. Although the iPhone is fully compatible with Apple’s iTunes program, it does not allow users to purchase songs without signing on to a computer." (source)
