Nokia has acquired social media sharing site Twango for around $100 million in a move to strengthen its mobile social sharing services.
What exactly is Twango?
Twango is an online media sharing site that supports multiple file types such as photos, video, audio, and documents. It provides users a means of repurposing their media, including sharing, editing, organizing and categorizing.
Twango was founded by five former Microsoft employees – Jim Laurel, Mike Laurel, Serena Glover, Philip Carmichael, and Randy Kerr.
Nokia is likely to incorporate the Twango software into its phones to provide easy content sharing between phones with simple online integration.
