Bollywood content now on Youtube, thanks to Eros International

Recently WATblog wrote an article on how Sony and Setmax had sent legal notices to Youtube for copyright Infringements. Our readers commented saying that platforms like Youtube only help popularize these shows.

Taking similar steps, Eros International tied up with Youtube a month ago and already had 6oo+ subscribers to its channel. Their “bollywood” channel has been ranked among the top 20 Partner channels of you tube.

This channel has already garnered about 1 million views, displays movie scene, trailers etc of different movies that are part of the Brand Eros. In this article Manu Kaushish, VP New Media, Eros International, said “We are extremely pleased with the initial success of the channel; this has helped us validate the demand for our exclusive content library"

"Over the next few months, we will be launching our own ad supported platform and will be pioneering this model for the Indian movie industry," he said.

Youtube is hence rightly being exploited by Eros, to increase their popularity. May be its time for Sony and Setmax to look at the brighter side of websites like youtube.
