Postini , Yet another Aquisition by Google

PostiniThe last article I had written was some months ago on Technologies Top Deal Makers. So here comes another deal from Eric Schmidt’s table. The aquisition of Security complaince provider Postini by Google. So this would be another open item on Google Apps portfolio, which is targetting on Small and Mid Tier Business.

Postini the Electronic Communication Security Provider is all set to be acquired by Google for an on Cash of $625 million Dollars. The deal does make a sense with Googles Mail Framework getting bigger, so does the On Demand communication security and compliance solutions. Postini products which includes message security, archiving, encryption & policy enforcement will be a part of Google Apps.

"With this transaction, we’re reinforcing our commitment to delivering compelling hosted applications to businesses of all sizes. With the addition of Postini, our apps are not just simple and appealing to users — they can also streamline the complex information security mandates within these organizations," said Eric Schmidt, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Google.

Postini acquisition comes after Google’s purchase of Youtube for  $1.76 billion late last year and an April agreement to buy online advertising service DoubleClick for $3.1 billion. Google is also aquiring Feedburner.
