We had covered zoho in our India 2.0 series and very rightly had given the review that we did at that time. So zoho continues its progress in the online collaboration space by providing two new applications..

zoho1) Zoho launches iZoho

iZoho was lauched in anticipation of the oh so hyped iPhone and its browsing capabilities. So even without testing the application on the actua l phone an attempt was made by the Zoho guys at creating iPhone i.e. mobile friendly applications. Currently izoho.com has Zoho Writer, Sheet and Show which lets you view your documents, spreadsheets and presentations in Zoho.

After the iPhone got launched the Zoho guys tested the iZoho initiative and have also recorded a video for its users here.

2) Zoho launches facebook application

So if iPhone was important enough to deserve an entirely new zoho so was facebook.. The rising star of social networks at present. So zoho launched apps which can be used by Facebook users. One can create documents, spreadsheets and presentations from Facebook. You can also view and edit all your existing documents, spreadsheets and presentations (both personal and shared) from Zoho Writer, Sheet and Show .

This was done by Zoho as 30% of their users are students (quite a large number when you consider these are online office applications).

Zoho is surely one company thats innovating and keeping in touch with the times. It will be interesting to see how they tackle the tough competition from the likes of google which seems to making online office available to allowing users to open their attached docs, spreadsheets and slideshows on gmail using google online office tools.

You can read more on the above here on the zoho blogs.
