Myspace the largest social network in the world which boasts of more than 182 million registered users* is launching its own video sharing platform aptly named myspacetv.com.

In all aspects myspacetv.com is a youtube clone (even the user interface is similar). Currently www.myspacetv.com is customised in seven languages for the US Internet firm’s users worldwide.

Chris DeWolfe, MySpace’s co-founder and chief executive said, “We haven’t really freshened up our video offering since we launched it. We wanted to highlight the fact that we have a video destination on the Web with all this great content that we’ve acquired.”

The content mentioned in his quotes are refering to tje exclusive rights to like the Sony "Minisodes" where they will have five-minute clips of various sitcoms from the 1980s.

One interesting aspect about this whole youtube myspace video saga is the numbers

As shown above Youtube is by the far a leading player in the online video space. But with over 182 million users and now myspacetv.com being launched one can expect some changes in the above numbers.
