hungamaThe first half of this year has seen some real action in the mobile advertising space. And we have been keeping tab on most of it. Just a couple of days back we had a post on the potential of mobile advertising. Where we mentions both biggies airtel and tata looking at this space.

We have also been keeping a tab on the activity by startups like mginger, webaroo and others like 160by2.com in this space.

Now it seems there is one more player that is jumping on the bandwagon of mobile advertising. Its none other than mobile entertainment player Hungama.com which has announced a tie up with US based Amobee to launch mobile based advertising solutions.

“Like Amobee, we are convinced in the ad-funded model to enhance consumption of mobile entertainment and indeed grow it from its current $23 billion (global) market size to $42 billion over the next three years,” said Neeraj Roy, managing director and CEO, Hungama Mobile, to agencyfaqs.

I personally feel there is a huge market in the mobile advertising space but still there is no single player who seems to have got it right when it comes to effective execution of advertising in the mobile space. I think over time a better model of execution will evolve with all the action happening in this space.

Fast approaching a 1000 posts on WAT, Rajiv has been the driving force or maybe just the boss :P around here. The Chief blogger he shows a fascination for the colour blue unrivaled by anyone else. However, leaving that murky quality aside Rajiv does some excellent analysis of the digital media industry in India and often puts many in discomfort with his inimitable style of interviewing.
