The much hyped about version of Real Player is finally available for download. Last month RealNetworks announced that their new RealPlayer would feature one-click download for online videos.

This new offering by them gives users more control and options for their online video clips. It makes it easier for people to watch videos whenever they want, and the player works as a video aggregator. It is compatible with Flash, Windows Media, Quicktime, Real video and a host of other formats, and works in Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers.

A download button will appear once you’ve begun to play a video online (Be it on YouTube or any other site which serves video content), and as along as the video is DRM-free, you’ll be able to save the video for later viewing. This release also makes it easier to search and share videos.

What I personally liked is that it supports almost all kinds of videos and would definitely become the most popular FLV player (FLV is the most used video format online).

The download feature makes it simpler than going to sites like JaviMoya, DownloadYouTubeVideos etc to download a YouTube video (Though there have been quite a few GreaseMonkey download scripts out there).

Click here to learn more about the player. There’s a Basic version up for free download. The Full Featured player is currently on a 14 Days Free Trial.
