YouTube goes Mobile and even gets Remixed
Email It!

YouTube has unveiled two new features: YouTube Mobile and YouTube Remixer along with a host of cosmetic modifications.
YouTube Mobile, is available at m.youtube.com. You will be greeted by an ominous warning page:
"Information: YouTube Mobile is a data intensive application. We highly recommend that you upgrade to an unlimited data plan with your mobile service provider to avoid additional charges."
After accepting the warning and continuing, inside I was greeted by a black page, full of YouTube videos:
YouTube has not finished uploading all its videos. i.e. there are files on YouTube.com that are missing on YouTube mobile.
Videos are currently in the 3gp format. So basically all the millions of videos on YouTube are being converted to a size efficient mobile format.
This would actually help users in India stuck on Dial-Up, if they can access these same videos online!
YouTube also announced the Video Remixer, which allows you to edit your videos with text, audio, graphics, overlays, effects, and transitions…
Check it out here. I had a few problems with the loading of the app.
Other changes at YouTube:
Search Layout Makeover:
Search bar has moved to the centre of the page. The search page now lets you choose how you want to display your results (the "List View" and "Grid View" options are now available.)
Homepage Additions:
Now you can see thumbnails of videos your fellow users are watching in real-time. In addition, the user message center now displays alert notifications for friend requests, new messages, video responses, and videos received to your account.
Beta Viewing Page:
Major changes include: increased video player size, more videos from that user’s channel are more easily accessible, and related videos are more prominently displayed.
You can access the New Beta video viewing page, by clicking on this link - which would be displayed on the right side of the video.
