Television giant, BBC has stepped into the popular video sharing website YouTube, so as to facilitate the channel’s reach to millions of internet users across the world.

Around 30 news clips have been gathered from the BBC’S 58 international news bureau and its 250 correspondents worldwide and they are available everyday. The users have the option to select the latest breaking news stories. The users can also comment on clips, rate them and post their own video responses.

However they(Youtube) have a special mention for all the UK users on their site. They say that the clips are not available to the users in UK.  It says to go directly to the BBC site and click on the “More BBC news video and audio” link. So the clips are available to all users outside UK for the time being.

Michele Grant, senior vice president, BBC Global News Development said in a prepared statement: “The BBC has more journalists in more places than any other broadcast news organization in the world. As part of our mission to find new ways to engage audiences around the world, we are delighted to be able to offer a dedicated BBC World News channel on YouTube that gives viewers the freedom to see our first-hand reporting whenever they want.”

So the launch of BBC World News channel, on the leading online platform, is a part of a non exclusive partnership between the BBC, BBC Worldwide and Youtube to create BBC channels online. BBC is therefore continuously making efforts to reach audience in new ways.
