Is my move a trend? – An exclusive interview with Mymuv.com founder.

Trends have always attracted a lot of eyeballs and are also considered influencing factors in purchasing decision. MYMUV is a Platform to track these trends and lets you figure out if your Move is a trend. To know exactly how click here.

Arun Vijayan, Co-founder of mymuv, gave some interesting insights into their website.

Arun spells the rational behind the idea “While we were online searching for an apt mobile phone to purchase, we realized that there was lack of connection between the previous mobile and the mobile to be purchased. In basic terms there was lack of relation between two entities.”

Hence an online mobile search led to the creation of mymuv. The main objective of the mymuv as explained by Arun “is to have a platform for productivity improvement”.

It also hopes that mymuv would help its users make faster decisions on the basis of trends.

The company is run by a 5 people staff and since their launch in March previously this year they currently have a user base of about 1000 users. Arun modestly admits “ that these numbers are not good enough” and to counter it they plan to start a marketing campaign from June.

The analytical implications of the data that is collected on the site by the users votes has already attracted a few advertising and marketing agencies from Singapore and New Zealand. “We are currently taken into consideration the offers and are concentrating on advertising based revenues for now” claims Arun.

Mymuv is an interesting concept and is also the 1st of its kind websites in India and hence doesn’t have to wend off any competition.

While surfing the website I came across a post looking for a trend between India and Pakistan. I failed to see the connection in terms of trends, but considering this website is a social open forum there will misuse of the platform (For the same reason orkut has appeared in the papers more often than not!)

Hence if mymuv better positioned its simplicity to its users, it would help attract more user and help make the use of the website more prominent. Mymuv has already received funding from ‘Netkode Innovations‘ Banglore, and hope to achieve 5000 users and about 1 lakh page views in the coming 3 months.

I dont think this is interesting at all. However, just like twitter worked, this kinda thing might pick up as well. But of course, time will tell.

harsh@ : Twitter's simplicity was one of the main reason for it success. But I agree with you we’ll just have to wait and see if this concept becomes a trend setter in itself.
