Yahoo! has expanded the reach of its mobile search service Yahoo! oneSearch beta to India. The beta version of oneSearch could now be accessed through Yahoo!’s mobile Web site, on any mobile phone with Internet access.

Yahoo! oneSearch was designed to find information faster by providing relevant results right on the first page and easy navigation to other Web sites, oneSearch results are easy to read, scroll through and expand when you want more information. The features that it offers is really cool. Yahoo oneSearch gets you the answers you seek for just about anything you need: weather, news, photos, websites, stock. It also makes it easy to get into any website you desire.

The usage is also very simple,one is asked to enter his/her mobile number. The Yahoo! server will send a text message to your phone with a link to Yahoo! oneSearch.Though it has been released recently,a lot of features are yet to come. One can get detailed information regarding the latest movie releases,sports news,company search and restaurant search.

Yahoo! oneSearch went beta in seven countries in the Asia Pacific including India. With this expansion, the service is now live in 14 countries.

According to David Ko, vice president and general manager, Connected Life Asia, Yahoo! "Consumers want search on their mobile phone to be entirely different from search on the PC," "Yahoo! oneSearch is designed specifically for the mobile phone. It understands what busy consumers are looking for when they are on the move and brings up relevant answers in the first screen. Yahoo! oneSearch delivers better results with just one search, instead of a sea of Web links to PC sites."

Lets see how the indian audience takes this service provided by yahoo in the coming months. This service is provided only to the internet enabled phones.
