Well last week saw the launch of many web initiatives by various players both in the online and offline space.
Lets start with the offline players..
IRCTC Launch Tourism Portal
IRCTC which has probably the most successful ecommerce ticketing site with $120 million (about Rs 500 crore) in bookings in 2006 in India has launched a new portal. This time the new portal called www.railtourismindia.com is aimed at promoting tourism within India using the Indian railways. The website is aimed at NRI and Foreigners.
The site is co-branded with the government initiative, Incredible India. It offers tourist railway packages like the Buddhist Train, Bharat Darshan and Luxury Train.
Personal Finance site launched by Mastercard & Indian Banks Association
Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) and the India Cards Council (ICC), in association with MasterCard Worldwide launches a site called www.money4you.in. This initiative is aimed at empowering consumers to help them make informed decisions. Read more here.

Indian Express Online and Ibibo has launched a new classifieds section
Indian Express Online has launched a new classifieds section called expressclassifieds.in . The classifieds scene is the most crowded on with kijiji.in , indialist.com, click.in and obviously the big players in matrimony, jobs and property classifieds like naukri, bharatmatrimony, times and shaadi. The very fact that indianexpress launches an online classifieds states that online classifieds would start commanding a sizable % of the future classifieds market in India. There is also ibibo which has launched dwaar a classified section and also launched a cash incentive based activity based programme for its users called IBqash. More on that can be read here.
Rediff launches games beta
Rediff has launched a gaming section Rediff games in closed beta. It boasts of multiplayer puzzle, arcade and strategy games. One can sign up for the closed beta here.

IRCTC Launch Tourism Portal - Good move to attract NRI and Foreigners.
The .co.in does not list well in the global search engine (google.com , live.com etc).
Indian Express Online - ExpressClassifieds.in has been live since july of 2005. Don't know why they call it Beta now.
