Mumbai Mirror copies article straight off a blog

Earlier it was Yahoo! who shamelessly copied an article from a popular Malayalam blog and passed it off as its own.

..And now, just to prove that it is not just the readers who are shifting Online from traditional media – A Mumbai Mirror journalist Subhash K Jha copies an article from from the blog Passion For Cinema without crediting the orginal article.

Mumbai Mirror is a daily belonging to the Times Group and is quite widely read (in Mumbai of course).
PFC is of course not too pleased about the article getting widely read without due credit and have a rather hilarious post dedicated to Mr. Jha.

Well we hope Mumbai Mirror prints a retraction soon.

Why have be put a post on this?
It’s not about Mumbai Mirror copying an article. It’s about blogging in India, which is becoming huge…slowly but surely. Bloggers deserve some credit and when someone from the press copies an article straight off a blog – it’s not supposed to be promoted.

Later today, we’ll be posting the 3rd part of the Blogging Report, which would be about what is the Indian junta reading online!
