We had a internal debate at WATBlog yesterday on the kind of posts we should be making.. It ended up being pretty interesting with each of us contributing different point of views. Off late we have been posting a lot of well researched long articles thanks to a great effort by Ekalavya, Gautam, Arjun and Himmat (who are also part of the WATConsult team). But there have also been many new stories about launches, advertising deals in the online and mobile space that have happened over the last few days.. So here is a round up on whats happening where..

AOL India to spend 10 crore on advertising

AOL India which was launched recently is going to spend 10 crore on its advertising and has appointed Madison Media as its AOR, while Saatchi & Saatchi will be in charge of the creative duties. We have a poll running on whether AOL would work in India and the results show that almost 70% of the people believe it wont work in India!aol poll will it work? Though these are only 49 people who voted with the strong hold of yahoo, rediff and now the newly relaunched indiatimes it will be a tough fight for AOL to get a piece of the action.

 

 

 

 Big 92.7FM launches mobile search.. ties up with Onyomo.com

onyomoBIG 92.7 FM the Reliance ADAG owned radio network has announced the launch of mobile search on 5454. for which it has tied up with OnYoMo, a local search player we reviewed last year. The service will allow users to search for restaurants, movies, florists, hotels, bookstores, coffee shops, electronic gadgets, and more.

 

Naukri grosses Rs 147 crore in 2006-07

Naukri.com has posted revenues of Rs 47.29 crore ($11.5 million) in Q4 ended March 31, 2007 taking its yearly revenue upto Rs.147 crores up from Rs 84.05 crore last year. Naukri went for an IPO last year and was oversubscribed 55 times. Also recently there was a heated online debate on which jobsite has the most active resumes. Well there have also been news about Naukri.com getting into social networking. With the company doing so well ill not be surprised if naukri spreads its money across the internet in upcoming web products.
