5 Recommended Reads for the Weekend
Thought of aggregating and posting some interesting reads that I’ve come across off late:
- The Economist has a must-read article which talks about social media sites are finally overtaking porn sites!
It talks about how ever since the internet kicked off - porn became widely and easily available. It goes on to talk about how social-networking sites are slowly but surely poised to overtake traffic to sex sites.
Well the article is based on US figures, but the trend is sure to kick-in here too - it might just take a little more time!"The growing popularity of social-networking sites is not entirely unrelated to sex, either. Such sites are often used to find and attract potential mates. Porn sites may have reached a climax, but sex remains as potent online as ever."
Complete article… - Well people either love Alexa or they hate it. But one cannot deny the fact that Alexa is currently the best source for free and public comparative Web user traffic data.
We blogged about Alexa watermarking their graphs and the same post had a little mention about the Alexa and Alexaholic /Statsoholic feud.
Here’s a really nice article - Amazon sues Alexaholic…everyone loses! - Well I agree we do blog a lot about Google, but then again who doesn’t?!
Here’s a new product of theirs called as Web History - All the pages visited by you get archived…And here’s something I read at TechquilaShots quite some time back (March 21st) - Strikingly similar! Imagine having the same above archive in a printed book?
Back to Google:
Enquisite states that the real market share of Google is more than 78% - Amit Agarwal at Digital Inspiration shares tips on how to access Orkut, MySpace, Bebo, Facebook, Xanga from School or Work
By the way, we allow access to these in our office! - Kathy Sierra at Creating Passionate Users blogs about her favourite graphs and the future. This ones got my favourite graph too! i.e. the Featuritis Curve.

Cheers and have a great weekend!
