What will be the effect of your online presence on your sales and brand??

Just go to Google and type "videocon India". the second link you see is a complaint by a customer about the pathetic service he received from a videocon dealer..I believe at least 90% users who visit videocon website don’t know the URL and would have come from a search engine, now imagine the kind of damage it would have done to the company not only in terms of sales..its reputation. coke used to have same problem few months back a search on coca coal gives 4 negative links among top 10 asking users to ban coca cola..now they promoted other coca cola url’s and pushed back negative links from Google top 10 results

ET have an interesting story on poor local websites of global brands and MNCs

Marketing consultant Harish Bijoor says “The low Internet penetration in India is one reason why Indian websites lag behind their counterparts in developed markets. There is a more business-to-business focused content in case of Indian sites like more information on topline and core products. The language in a developed market site is different- more casual and friendly"

True India has low Internet penetration.but that cant be an excuse a little spend on your online presence would help in improveing your brand image and communication atleast to the odd people who visited your website for some information
