Reliance thinking BIG with BigFlicks.com!

Not too long ago we posted about Big Adda the social network by Reliance Entertainment which was asking users to choose their favourite logo. (Its already got over 41000 votes and has also started blogs for its users).

So its not only social networking thats big on Reliance’s agenda, its also home entertainment through DVD rentals (Dvd rentals is a competitive space with players like seventymm, madhouse, catchflix, cinespritemoviemart and the latest entrant moser baer).  So get ready to see another DVD rental site this time from the Reliance stable. And in all probability the DVD rental site will be called BigFlicks.com. See logo below.

Reliance is expected to pump in 100 million $ in the dvd rentals business over the next three years and plans to launch  in June in Chandigarh, Hyderabad and Pune and could take the franchisee route to market. Reliance might even allow movie downloads.

So it looks like its going be big time competition in the dvd rentals scene. One can’t help but question if there’s actually that much market to be captured in the first place with so many player vying for a piece of the dvd rental cake.
