google mapstalk googleGoogle is taking strides that seem like leaps for other companies. I am still to come across an Indian Internet company that is as quick in launching features that make business sense and are pioneering initiatives in its own way.

There is confirmed news that google would soon be launching google maps and talk on mobile! Imagine being able to browse through maps on the phone. Hopefully one day they also come up with "I feel lost! Where am i?" Feature.

It plans to introduce these features through tie-ups with Indian mobile operators. One important point to note is that google talk has a VOIP feature just like skype which can allow the user to talk over internet. It will be interesting to see if operators allow that feature to be used on their networks even though it would mean that the user has to connect to GPRS in order to use Google talk on phone.
