I guess the world cup fever has gripped the largest search engine in the world as well. Hence going with the flavour of the season Google India has launched a cricket blogging contest. And whats more it has ropped in World cup winner squad dashing opener Krishnamachari Srikkanth to give his expert views on "Cricket Zone with Krish" on blogspot. Not only blogspot Krishnamachari Srikkanth will also give his expert view on an orkut conmmunity known as Krishcricket community.

The cricket centric page can be accessed at www.google.co.in/cricket. The page also has features like a world cup score widget that can be placed on your google personal page.

Sundaraman K, Head of Sales, Google India said, "Google aims to constantly improve its users experience by designing products that make things easier and deliver better results than what was available before. Cricket is one of the key passions of users in India and this campaign is designed to bring people across communities together, offering them a unique cricket experience across different Google platforms."

As a part of this initiative, Google is running a cricket blogging contest, entries for which can be submitted at www.google.co.in/cricket/contest. This will include posts on anything from on-the-ground reporting from West Indies to viewers’ opinions on the progress of the various teams at the World Cup. Both existing and new users will get an opportunity to participate in the contest.

The best blogger who wins the contest will get to express his cricket views on TV with Kris Srikkanth!

Today is the first match of the world cup and though WATBlog is a tech blog we love cricket too! So here’s wishing that you guys have a fun time watching the worldcup and lets hope India wins!!! :)
