According to Comscore statistics India’s internet penetration has been the fastest growing across the world over the year 2006!

Here are the statistics

The above statistics exclude cyber cafe access which might mean that India’s penetration might be much much higher that what these statistics project. As per my conservative estimations ndia would have over 10000 cybercafes which would constitute atleast 60000 and above public computers available for internet access. Thereby having a major impact on the unique visitors numbers as public computers could be used by 8 people in 8 hours!

So though the 33% growth might be heartening it is safe to say that India would rank much higher when it come to Total Internet penetration numbers as well! :)
