ByIndia.com a search engine cum social network which was acquired by Web2Corp four months ago has announced that it will soon be adding another new feature. By 15th March ByIndia.com is expected to launch a google adwords clone that will feature keyword listings on the top of the page as well as on the right margin. It also plans to add inline images on advertisements on the right margin similar to rediff pay4clicks

William Mobley, CEO of Web2Corp said, “Google’s AdWords program netted the company more than 7 billion dollars in 2006"

According to Mobley Google’s own Eric Schmidt stated that India is going to be the largest Internet market in 5 or 10 years, so the potential to start generating brand loyalty in the fastest-growing economy in the world while it is still inexpensive is very valuable.

Well agreed there is tremendous potential but one needs a differentiated product! Why in the world would i search byindia.com or lets say the other search player guruji.com when i have a google.com? I honestly see a lack of differentiation when it comes to search related player be it byindia (which doesn’t impress me) or its a guruji.com which got funded for 7 million dollars!
