Internet is growing and ecommerce is booming so all that was sold offline is being pushed online as well. But some of these businesses are really blooming! I am talking about the online flower selling business which is now riding the wave of days like valentines day and others.
Online flower delivery shops have witnessed an increase in business from tier II and III cities in recent years due to deeper penetration of the internet and a growing trust in electronic money transfer. There are many sites like indiafloristonline.com, phoolwala.com and floricall.com which service the ever growing need of online flower buying.
According to Saiket Ghosh, marketing manager of Phoolwala.com "There are shops like www.1800flowers.com and www.ftd.com in America which extend services to about 1500 towns. The same trend is emerging in India, but is at a very nascent stage so far,”
Well with internet booming and expected to reach 50 million users this year end (IAMAI figures) i expect the online flower buying as a business to bloom as well. After all flower are a low cost item and can be gifted even without actually seeing the flowers because most of us know how they look! So online flower buying adds that convenience factor to it!
