Initially Hutch users having java enabled phones using Having GPRS facility who will also be Jet Privilege members will be able to book pay and generate e- tickets through their mobile phones. Users need to simply download the JetWallet software and can then book Jet tickets.

The timing seems to be perfect as the Indian mobile market is booming. Online payments are becoming more secure. Indians have started making online purchases.  There are approx 200million phones currently in the Indian market and it is said to reach 500million by 2010.

Saroj K. Datta, executive director of Jet Airways, said the introduction of m-ticketing was in keeping with the airline’s quest to enhance their customer’s user experience. He said with this technology Jet customers can book and receive tickets

  1. Onewallet from what I am told from Jet insiders, is not happening. It has not been marketed properly and customeers are unaware about the product. Saroj Datta is himself clueless about the product!

On the other hand I stay in Blr and have seen hoardings by KingFisher not only here but in Delhi. It seems a far better proposition for the sms savvy indian. I dont know how the serviceis doing, but if they promote it amongst their base. They should get better results.
