With the world cup round the corner the cricket fever in India is hotting up day by day and its already having its effect online and on mobile.

So if you are a Sachin Tendulkar fan now you can get more of Sachin Tendulkar beyond the cricket field on your mobile handsets. Mobile value added services provider Nazara Technologies has taken world wide rights to develop and distribute mobile content such as wall papers, themes and applications based on the master batsman. Earlier nazara had launched a mobile game on Indian wicket keeper MS Dhoni.

Nazara has launched `Sachin Zone‘ that allows fans to listen to Sachin sharing his views on various aspects of his life, his daily routine, activities with his friends and family and opinions on matters on and off field. Subscribers can also leave a feedback on these opinions.

Commenting on this development the master batsman said, "I’m excited and anxious about this new service as I’ve been told that it’s the first of its kind ever. After all these years, it’ll be great to know my audience personally a bit more in terms of what they like, what they want and how they feel."

Well its not only limited to sachin anymore..

crickemReliance is doing its bit to cash in on the world cup as well as Reliance World would enable users to record and upload their cricketing video footage from any of the 240 centres. The Anil Ambani group company has tied-up with an online video networking firm, CrickeM.com (a site we wrote about last year), to enable customers to upload, view and share their cricket videos with the rest of the world.

And if reliance is looking to cash in how can internet giant Yahoo! be behind? So Yahoo has launched many cricket specific features both through its online platform and its mobile short code 8243 and wap website.

Yahoo! is adding rich content to its cricket section by having Daily Podcasts by Sunil Gavaskar in English, launching the "Be the umpire game" a single player game where the user has to be the umpire, having Trivia quiz and daily polls. It has also added goodies for mobile users by adding Live scores, Match Schedules, News / Video Interviews to its wap website and also launching "Criccast" An animated casting application which users can download on their java enabled phones from  the Yahoo! India Cricket WAP site.

Yahoo! expects Over 600,000 Unique Users & over 200 Million Page Views to its cricket section during the World cup! and Over 4 Million Page Views on a match Day! And as far as mobile is concerned it expects over 175,000 Unique Users  per day to sms on 8243 on India Match Days and over  90,000 Unique Users  p.m to visit the wap portal!

Phew! those are some numbers! well it seems like cricket will rake in the moolah for one and all!
