orkutI just got a mail from a friend asking to to vote for a particular feature to be added to orkut! I was surprised to see a help page that actually invites users to vote for features they really want to see developed on orkut! Talk about web 2.0! So here i am listing down all the possible features we could see on orkut in the near future..

Friends

Friends in alphabetical order

More than 1000 friends could be added

Scraps

Option for Only friends to view scrapbook and send scraps

Scrapbook can be set to local time zones

Communities

Display of communities in alphabetical order

Ability to search for users in a community

Photos

Restrict the copy and paste function for photos

Option to allow only friends to view my album

Option to allow posting more than 12 pictures in album

Profile Settings

More languages in the list of languages

More religions in the list of religions

Option to change colors and layout of my profile

Option to hide email address

My Profile

Can add Blog features

Option to hide or show online status

Option to Increase number of recent visitors shown

Option Keep profile out of search results

Some are interesting additions while some are long over due. The most notable is the ones relating to picture and privacy of scraps as this will reduce the openess of orkut as a community but will protect the users from wierdo’s!

Also one feature thats missing here is if orkut which is google’s baby adds video upload and sharing from google video or youtube that would have a tremendous viral effect within the orkutters community!

Rajiv Dingra

Fast approaching a 1000 posts on WAT, Rajiv has been the driving force or maybe just the boss :P around here. The Chief blogger he shows a fascination for the colour blue unrivaled by anyone else. However, leaving that murky quality aside Rajiv does some excellent analysis of the digital media industry in India and often puts many in discomfort with his inimitable style of interviewing. Just mail rajiv|at|watblog|dot|com and it will reach him..
