Yahoo Answers launches Ask The Planet 2007

ask the planet yahoo india Yahoo Answers has launched ‘Ask The Planet 2007′ initiative which is a series inaugurated by Indian President, APJ Abdul Kalam. Ask the planet will feature questions from prominent personalities, around global issues of concern, in several categories.

Yahoo! will be rolling out a string of questions, posed by Indian achievers, on subjects ranging from education, health, law and enforcement, games and recreation, and society and culture, among others and the best answers selected by the people who ask the question will be awarded prizes. To me this whole initiative looks like a Yahoo answers promotional campaign as by getting promiinent personalities to ask questions Yahoo seems to have already got the attention that a web 2.0 model like answers needs in India. Also Yahoo answers is a user generated content medium that in the long run would make Yahoo millions on dollars in targetted advertising by using its ad network.
