War between a blogger Spocko and KSFO radio (ABC a.k.a Walt Disney’s affliate radio station) intensified after Spocko’s blog was blocked by his ISP. walt disney company complained Spocko’s ISP about unauthorized use of copyrighted material. The controversy broke when Spocko recorded a radio programme and bought users about the hate speech the programme is spreading. He also began sending letters to advertisers on KSFO, including AT&T, Bank of America, Visa, MasterCard and others, pointing out the station’s content and directing them to his blog to hear proof, via his audio files Since then many national advertisers have departed the radio Spocko claims he should be allowed to post the audio files, citing the "Fair Use" provision of copyright law Adding woes Spocko contacted the Electronic Friont Foundation and intends to continue the fight.

How should a brand react if it was blasted in blogs and other user generated content. Abram sauer wrote a article on how blogs should react in crisis time:

1.Do not immediately reply. Gauge the attitude of the post and determine
its momentum. Is it petering out or is it gaining steam

2. react everyone as equal, even if the blogger is wrong.
If you try to bully anyone it will end badly for you (as in case with disney)

3. Ignore it if it is just a ridicule

4. Have a sense of humor

5. Do not try to bring this blogger secretly "on board" as a spokesperson. This has backfire written all over it ( microsofts ‘gift’ (a vista installed laptops) to tech bloggers resulted in a mixed reaction)

Waltdisney would have avoided the negative PR and wrath of advertisers , had if they withdrawed the show rather than block a individual blog.
