Naukri.com which got listed on the stock exchange last year and raised over 170 crores from the market has started making strides into being an innovative company. Now I in no way want to imply the naukri hasn’t been innovative before but most of naukri’s energies earlier has been spent on generating database thereby becoming the largest internet consumer brand as far as jobs is concerned. But now it seems that naukri is making subtle moves in getting more and more technologically savvy.

naukri labsSo its no more about just the number of resumes! Naukri is started coming up with innovative products as well and to formalize the process Naukri.com started Naukri labs last year (yup.. the name is a rip off from google labs. Hopefully we should see some interesting product launches from naukri just like google as well). They have already launched something called the JobPI (Naukri featured Job Plugin). A Naukri Featured Jobs Plugin is a small piece of code that pulls specific job listings based on your given criteria from Naukri.com web server onto to any external chosen webpage. This is basically a way of sharing job posting with other content publishers. Whats not so cool is the design and the lack of customizability for this plugin. I mean i cant seemlessly integrate it with my site.

Besides naukri labs it has recently launched Recruiterblogs at naukri which is an initiative to make companies use the naukri system to build their corporate blogsand connect with the job seekers on a more interacive level. But i guess the whole motive of trying to make recruiters blog is not working out as yet as i noticed most blogs were being used for posting jobs rather than sharing internal company information that might influence a job seeker. Only naukri’s own internal recruiters blog was one which shared information rather than being a job post.

So i come back to my point. Naukri is trying to be innovative and its a start..
