Business Standard: Airline ticket customers formed 40 per cent of online shoppers in India in the six months to June 30,according to a report Visa International and AC Nielsen online airline ticket purchases have also been attracting a significant amount of repeat purchases by consumers. Globally, airlines represent the largest merchant category of e-commerce transactions (close to $6.68 trillion for April 2006).The study also reveals that the key motivators behind online purchase of airline tickets include convenience (54 per cent), price (34 per cent) and better selection (11 per cent).
