Magicbricks.com launches magicsms

Exchange4media: MagicBricks.com, a website promoted by the Times Group,has launched an SMS initiative called ‘Magic SMS’ which allows users to send SMS queries to individual property sellers, agents, builders, developers and buyers regarding listings on the website. Through the Magic SMS service, users can send free SMSes through the website to sellers for properties and buyers for requirements that interest them.

Well MagicBricks is facing some tough competition in the real estate online classifieds business as Naukri.com which recently got listed on the stock exchange has its own portal 99acres.com which expected to have a lot of money pumped into it by its parent company. Besides Naukri there is also Bharatmatrimony with indiaproperty.com and Shaadi.com which is coming up with its own property portal 2bhk.com. Thus this online classified space seems to be getting more and more crowded and im not really sure how much of current revenue or market is for online classified for real estate though i have to admit the online classifieds business as a whole is one of the most profitable online businesses till date.
