They say sharing is caring, which is indeed very true. But Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis perhaps took it a little too seriously, and created KaZaA and Skype. With Skype being acquired by ebay, the duo is now working on a project code named The Venice Project, which on the website calls itself “… a new venture that combines the best elements of the TV experience with the most powerful internet technologies, in a way that will redefine the way people think about television. It is not a file-sharing application or a video download service.” This is was a highly secretive project with developers being assembled at half a dozen cities across the world. The Venice Project blog is now calling testers for beta testing.

Considering the legacy that the founders have behind them, we know what to expect! If one were to go by the photos of the project, they seem to be well on course to deliver us something as raving as KaZaA and Skype. Most movie buffs in India are losing sleep over the Abhishek-Aishwarya marriage episode. It is another matter though that their recent movie together has put many people to sleep. Similarly, many tech buffs would be wondering what would happen if Google and Amazon were to marry. A Google+Amazon = Googlezon would shake-up the technology world, giving it an entirely new face and direction. What would happen to Microsoft then? What about the mainstream media? With so much information made available on the internet, how would one consume it? How personalized and customized will that information be? Robin Sloan hazards a peek into the future and comes up with a gripping, crisply made video which answers the questions asked above and many more. Watch the video here.

PS: I hope you’ll agree that the child out of Google+Amazon marriage will have a more profound impact on our lives than a child out of the Abhishek Aishwarya marriage. But with the Indian media, especially the TV channels, one never knows!
