BBC: UNICEF, has launched the first ever computer game in the Kiswahili language. The game, “Ungefanyage?” or “What Would You Do?” is aimed at tackling AIDS through education. The game leaves the player choices as two male and two female characters begin relationships. Multiple options are given for each choice. 100 million people speak Swahili. The game is targeted at East African adolescents and young people but how many East Africans have access to internet?? Gaming is one of the most effective ways of teaching people about complex situations - and yet keeping them engaging and was proved when MTV released a game http://www.darfurisdying.com which was downloaded more than 750,000 times in the first two months itself.
