Cellnext launching M-Paper in India

BusinessStandard: Cellnext Solutions Ltd, a value-added service providerand a subsidiary of the Escorts Group is gearing up to offer M-paper services to users in India and discussing the possibility with two leading english dailes reports business standard Cellnext is carrying out a pilot run with mobile service provider Idea Cmpaperellular to deliver news on mobile phones and wants to offer the service at a cost lower than what newspaper bills amount to. Unlike M-Paper will not be like the traditional SMS news alerts but contain the entire content of the news story including photographs.

 

 Ajay Vaishnavi, chief operating officer of Cellnext Solutions, said: “M-paper service is a multi-media publishing platform. Unlike the 160 character SMS-based news headlines, M-paper will offer full stories with images, text, and audio facilities. The service will be available on Multi Media Services (MMS)-enabled phones.” The service is expected to cost arround Rs50 per month apart from news it will focus in matrimonail,Contest and bollywood news and delivering regional contetn in marathi, Hindi,bengali and other regional languages.
