SMS helpline for women

Business Line: ValueFirst, has launched a SMS helpline that could be used by women to reach out for help. With this, any women can send an SMS to the number 6070, which would be automatically forwarded to the local police department of the area. The service, at present, has been introduced in Gurgaon and would be available nationwide with all mobile operators.
Updated by Rajiv: Well this service was much needed with the boom in the BPO segment and the erratic work hours. Employee security and transport is one of the major concerns of BPO’s in India as many women work for this sector.
