Apple files for ‘iPhone’ copyright

‘iPhone’ the term highly popularized by the blogging communities, has been filed for copyright by Apple Inc. It can be presumed that the launch of the iPhone is pretty close. Also a cell phone with integrated ‘iPod’ would be irresistible another point that comes to otice is the URL ‘www.iphone.org ‘ redirects to the Apple website.

On September 15th when the copyright was filed, Apple describes iPhone as "handheld and mobile digital electronic devices for the sending and receiving of telephone calls, faxes, electronic mail, and other digital data; MP3 and other digital format audio players." Moreover it is pretty reasonable to say that it will be compatible with online ‘iTunes’ shop for music & game downloads. If Apple is able to get even a 1% foothold, it would mean $2 billion in revenues just from phones.

We blogged before of how Apple was sending ‘cease & desist’ notices to any company using ‘pod’. So another question that can be seen is what would Apple do next after launch to save ‘iphone’ from brand dilution.
