India adds 6.2 million mobile subscribers!

India’s going mobile like never before and an addition of 6.2 million mobile users in the month of September a record for any country is proof of that fact. This growthis making it one of the world’s fastest growing markets for cellular phones. The GSM network added 4.4 million subscribers in September, while mobile connections based on the CDMA technology increased 1.8 million. With the mobile numbers adding up so fast one can only wonder how this will impact the internet access through mobile. I personally am a big fan of the mobile browser opera mini which really makes browsing experience on mobile a great one. Besides opera mini there is also link n surf a delhi based company which has launched a mobile browser for sharing blogs through mobile. Also Reliance Mobile has recently launched mblog that helps bloggers post pictures and blogs through their mobile. All these are signs indicating that the future traffic to internet may be more through mobiles than through any other medium. Something online marketers should think about…
