Though it might be one of the most well know internet brands across the world and in India as well google is facing a unique problem in India. Its finding it tough to recruit good talent in India (are the Naukri and Monster listening? Or are they still fighting over whose resume numbers are bigger!). In India candidates with skills such as knowledge of Javascript and Ajax (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML), the Web design technology used in the latest generation of Web sites like Google Maps and Flickr are in short-supply. Such kind of talent shortage is experienced across the board in the web, advertising and technology space in India. One could blame the education system that still focusses on traditional careers and not much on upcoming fields but in the end if India has to have a Silicon Valley it needs to have great talent pool at all levels.

However, leaving that murky quality aside Rajiv does some excellent analysis of the digital media industry in India and often puts many in discomfort with his inimitable style of interviewing.
