arzooWell i think most people would know about Sabeer Bhatia’s Arzoo.com which has been relaunched as a travel portal. It has been in testing mode for sometime and infact i had also seen a few ads in the mumbai newspapers almost 2-3 months back. But an article suggests that Arzoo has been relaunched just yesterday. Well probably its true.. Arzoo plans to enable customers with 24/7 access using mediums like website access, email, SMS, a toll free number and online chat. Plans are afoot to include VoiFi - a freely downloadable VoIP solution that combines P2P telephony and instant messaging with entertainment. VoiFI is Sabeer Bhatia’s VoIP offering which was launched aorund march this year. Arzoo also plans a voice recognition software to facilitate faster access for corporate clients.

Though all this sounds good i don’t seem to understand the obsession with the domain name arzoo! i mean wouldn’t a new domain anme with the same travel concept make more sense? I just feel that Mr.Bhatia is stuck on Arzoo as a name and wants to make it a success whether its a travel site or a site that sells anything else. Also with so many travel players seeing a future for a site named arzoo which is like any other travel portal looks bleak to me. But as Sabeer has been there done that with hotmail one hopes that he does well in this venture too.
