What’s this?
Flurry is an easy, smart, powerful and most importantly : ) FREE service that allows you to check any of your existing email from your current phone. (Of course, you will need a net connection on your phone)

Here’s more:

  1. You can search mails (like Gmail) on your phone with T9 functionality. (T9 is predictive text that helps you write your messages on your phone easily)
  2. Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, Lycos and even apna VSNL will work on this and you can have multiple accounts.
  3. It’s blazingly fast.
  4. It’s present in over 200 countries!

You simply signup at www.flurry.com and download the flurry application and you are done. Flurry uses a secure connection to download your mails form it’s servers.

How long will it be free?
Well, www.flurry.com guys are not COY about their plans on making money. They hope to
1) Introduce a premium version with advanced features
2) Include unobtrusive advertising in the free version. (Unobtrusive advertising? That should be very interesting)

Post your comments on their service if you’ve experienced Flurry. I currently don’t feel the need to check emails though my phone, so don’t want to sign up. Personally, I also have privacy concerns.

My belief that technology is a great leveller gets stronger. You don’t need an expensive smart phone to check email on your phone. Simply Flurry - email in a hurry!

  1. There are phones with built-in email clients that will allow you to do the same thing - fetch your email from multiple email service providers. Even my Moto RAZR has that.

The USP of a blackberry is the ease of use. If you receive emails in double or triple digits daily, then the blackberry is a huge life saver. Besides a Blackberry allows you to open MS-Office documents.

So, if you need to check and reply to your emails more frequently that you need to talk on the phone, then blackberry (or the Motorola Q, or Nokia communicator) is the way to go. If you need to talk more than reply to your emails, then any phone will do.
