Yahoo launches search marketing in India

yahoo search marketingYahoo! India launched its latest offering, search marketing solutions, for Indian advertisers today. According to IAMAI report Search advertising aimed at Indian internet users is estimated to be around Rs 2.3 billion and yahoo search marketing solutions will help reaching 25 million active internet users. Advertisers will have to pay Yahoo on a per-click basis. They will bid for appropriate keywords with prices ranging from 0.50 paise to Rs 4 per word (prices go up if there are competitive bids for the same keyword).
The best part of it is advertisers listings will appear on yahoo and MSN With the wider partner network, Yahoo! Search Marketing will also offer content match. This will facilitate the placement of listings on content sites, newsletters, blogs and online publications driving more traffic to the marketer’s site.

Yahoo! Search Marketing’s focus in India will be to grow the search marketing market by using a ‘high-touch’ model; to deliver higher return on investment (ROI) for advertisers; and to educate small-medium-businesses (SMBs) on search marketing benefits

Addressing the media at Mumbai , Craig Wax, Regional Managing Direector, Yahoo! Search Marketing, said, "Search Marketing is a $13 billion industry today with more than $5 billion coming from outside the U.S. This is expected to go up to $33 billion by 2010 with the growth coming from outside the U.S. In 2005, out of Yahoo!’s revenues of $4.5 billion, 55 per cent came from Search Marketing activities
George Zacharias, Managing Director, Yahoo! India said, "India is one of the fastest growing e-commerce markets in Asia, and Yahoo! is committed to providing Indian businesses easy to use search marketing products and tools to help them succeed online.”
